• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

MSFS Custom Aerial-Image for VRMV failed

Hello!

I have been trying to create the entire Maldives Island with VRMV airport for a few weeks now.

For this purpose I have created an aerial image for the entire island. (According to various instructions that I have viewed here or on YouTube).

The create works and I can also create it in the editor of MSFS (build package). When I mount the result in the community folder and go to the island ... I recognize on the right side also the created aerial image ... and about in the middle of the island it seems to be overloaded by something.

It seems that the image is completely on the ground and does not follow the mesh?

I apologize if I may have expressed myself a bit confused. This is the first time I've ventured into Scenery creation .... and I'm not the youngest anymore ... but I would really like to learn it.

Thank you very much for your feedback. I think I have looked at every possible source for tips around the topic. Experimented with different tools. But the aerial image remains unsightly. I've put that on the back burner for now though and am dealing with Blender and Substance Painter for now; which is also giving me a decent headache again. Also for this I look at (as far as available) everything on this subject. And so I hope to make appropriate progress over time. Blender I have meanwhile quite well in the grasp. But Substance Painter ... there the export somehow makes me problems (use of course the export asset offered here in the forum). The model looks quite good in the simulator ... but has depending on the viewing direction unsightly black shadows (AO???). Have already desperately searched on Youtube for tutorials on this subject (especially MSFS/Substance Painter) ... but I find there nothing at all.
