• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hi Joe, Looks good except for it not moving of course (LOL) but help is at hand. Attached is a pic of the KeyFrame Animation as taken from FSDS. The reason it didn't move is because YOU didn't rotate it at all! If you look at the co-ordinates you will see that they are all the same. I will amend it and then post another reply. The windows? well what can I say they will do for now but you have to go searching or make your own? Back soon, I hope!

Here you are Joe all done. FSDS fsc file and mdl to place with ez-scenery or whatever you want. It works - put the plane at about 300ft and watch the animation!

OMG...i figured it out.

yes i did, and no i didnt rotate it.
fsds is quite unforgiving!!
i did "rotate", or so i thought. when i went to the keyframes, i just hit "ok". even though i see it rotate in all 3 screens, it never really took the entries.

ya literally have to re-enter 90 and click entire part(even though it is already clicked) then hit OK.
my tower now rotates!!

as far as the windows, i found a different texture and it looks fine.
see the pic.

thanks warmingham

joe

Hi Joe, Does that mean that your Ferris Wheel is now rotating?

nope, and the key list shows a little different as in the tutorial. the z-axis stays at 16.25 in mine, and i cant figure out why it doesnt change for me.
i rotated the z at 90 on each keyframe.

Joe, unless I am looking over your shoulder whilst you are tinkering with the animation in FSDS I cannot see where I can help you. If you send me the fsc file I will look at it and either fix it or tell you how to fix it. Obviously it is better that you know how to fix it, but there must be something basically and probably very simply wrong in what you are doing or not doing. You must decide.
What if I send you some Screen Shots of the steps in the animation? Send me a PM and let me know - I can then give you my email address if you want to use it.:)
