• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

MSFS20 Native Msfs model, FSX Xml gauges

Hi folks, just a couple of dumb questions from a complete idiot.
I have been messing around with the new sim for a few months now and am happy to say that I am now at the stage where I have been able to create quite a pleasing and flyable model (with custom animations) for myself based on an aircraft that I created for FSX a while back. Now the stumbling block, I am currently at the vc stage and read somewhere that FSX native xml gauges worked quite happily in the new sim so off I went on creating a poly in the vc and texturing it with a $vc texture and putting my xml gauge in the panel.cfg file but nothing appeared in the sim, my $vc polygon was visible as a black plane in the cockpit. Could anybody point me in the direction of what I should be doing please. Many grateful thanks in advance to anyone who could shed some light on the matter.
Regards, TJ

Using XML_Gauges you must set the EMISSIVE to 1 on the $vc material. Are you replicating a glass cockpit or steam (style) gauges? If the later then please create them as actual 3D objects! :D It's easier than you might think.

Thanks Oz, I it is a glass gauge so not modeled in 3d. I set the Emissive to 1. I even tried the $vc texture as a bmp then a png but no dice.
PS are you from down under? Greetings from rainy Melbourne.

I have a old SAAB T-17 from FSX with a very good panel, but now I have change to P3D and have bought MSK-MFI T-17 with a Pakistan Panel, how can I change the old FSX panel so it will be possible to use in MSK MFI T-17.?
Hope some can give some answer.
