When I compile a scenery object I am getting all its textures dumped into scenery folder instead of texture folder............. or the textures get dumped into both texture and scenery folder. Rather annoying, that. I am sure I've got something messed up in options MCX. How can I correct this? Port and nickle cigars n th e war room for all who can help. ;)

Hi,

Can you give a little more information about your workflow? Are you exporting the textures from the material editor or with the new save textures option in the export file dialog? Or are you using the place and convert object wizard?

Let us say I placed an MDL into my ADE and compiled. This of course goes into my afcadnamead4_obj.bgl. If I go to p3d addonscenery/scenery folder name/scenery, my obj file is there and all works well, but all the textures in that obj file are also put into filename/scenery. Here in a jpg is what I see when exporting scenery in MCX. Attachment here. This is the bottom half of the screen when exporting scenery from MCX. Bob

And which folder did you select as texture folder in the options? Is that the texture folder or the scenery folder?

I think I have it figured out. Not sure if it's right, but it seems work. I unchecked the png option. I see the purpose of it, but not needed right not. That helped a lot. And in materials editor I see the option of placing the textures in either 'choice' or last texture folder used. I hope I am on the right flight path. ;)

I am not sure if I can follow what you say. You can save the textures either from the material editor or on export you can select the option to save them together with the object. Which of these two were you using? None of the options should save the textures twice. If that is what you see that sounds like a bug.

I saved textures option, save together. The other was the black screen I was getting. so far things seem better. I will report back after more testing. I am surfe this was my not understanding how the new option works. Thank you foryourhelp.
