• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hi lads,

I've an problem big time with my scenery i have created "EIME & HELICOPETR RESCUE base in waterford airport".I'm using ez-scenery to place my objected, like hanger,control tower and so on. the problem is that when i pick my objected that have done with gmax and place it to certain location & hit the add button i keep getting this message saying "the library you selected only works in a specific area(or city).you are trying to place an object outside of that area."
Is there any way to go around this.as i have gone as far as change LOC & LAT to see if that did any different.but still the same message up again.
any help would begreatful as i'm stuck here, As i have all EIME - Baldonnel aerodrome finish and ready to be add to my flightsim fs2004.

kind regards

Do you have the full version of ez-scenery?

How was the BGL file created that holds them compiled MDL files? If you have XML code compiled that geo-locks the MDL file, then EZ-Scenery can complain. If you took the MDL files and used the Library Maker (or whatever it's called in EZS) to make an object library, then you should not get any message about "out of area".

lads i've full version of ez-scenery that i got from abacus, it the cd box set. and the BGL file created that holds them compiled MDL files was created by using bglcomp. it my be something simple that i've done wrong or am i using the wrong software . but here is one of the mdl file below:

<?xml version="1.0"
encoding="ISO-8859-1"?>
<FSData version="9.0"
xmlns:xsi='http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance'
xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation="bglcomp.xsd">
<SceneryObject
lat="47 25.89"
lon="-122 18.43"
alt="0"
pitch="0"
bank="0"
heading="0"
altitudeIsAgl="TRUE"
imageComplexity="NORMAL">
<LibraryObject name="CB7DA5904C89110CFE232F877B013D2B" scale="1.0" />
</SceneryObject>
<ModelData name="CB7DA5904C89110CFE232F877B013D2B" sourceFile="newhanger.mdl" />
</FSData>

Your xml has both model data and placement data in it. This can geo-lock an object. Is the location specified in that XMLwhere you are trying to place it? Is the XML coming from a bgl file created by EZ Scenery or from somewhere else?

<SceneryObject
lat="47 25.89"
lon="-122 18.43"

Your MDL file is placed in Seattle, Washington, so EZ-Scenery won't go beyond that area and allow you to place it in Scotland. EZ-Scenery had a library maker, best I can recall. If not, you can use Arno's tool found here to create a Library BGL. This will allow EZS to place it anywhere you desire.
