• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

New feature request

Arno,

May I request you to build into MCX the following features:

1) Ability for users to specify default map coordinates so that every time I have to use it to find place for the objects I don't have to make many clicks and pan around the world to get into the airport I am working on?

That would be very helpful feature for me.

I appreciate the program always sending me to N52, E06 coordinates but have no use of those!

:-)

2) BGL update or save button on Object Information form so that if, for example, I specify the new coordinates for the BGL, I could easily update the BGL file without having to export it.

Regards,
Mike

Hi Mike,

That's a good idea. I picked this place in the Netherlands because 0,0 (middle of the ocean) is not that useful. But making it an option is an even better idea.

2) BGL update or save button on Object Information form so that if, for example, I specify the new coordinates for the BGL, I could easily update the BGL file without having to export it.

Exporting is the same as saving. I feel that having multiple places to save a file would be confusing. Also when you did not load a BGL what would you do when the button is preseed? The tool can handle many formats and I don't think a function that works just for one is a good idea.

Hi,

I have added the option now to specify your own default location.
