• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hi All,

We are close, really close... The new website and integration is almost complete, but we need your help.

On the front of the new homepage we have a rotating image that shows "designers at work". This includes people working on code, code screenshots, GMAX screenshots of work in progress, Shots of completed FS models, with the design view in GMAX as well....

You get the idea.

Anyway, we are looking for screenshots like this, and the lucky picked shots (if they are good enough) will make it onto this rotating image page. The specs for the shot are.

730 x 458 PNG only.

Post them here!

Awww shoot!!

I had half-heartedly started working on an idea for the home page and that is the exact sort of thing I was going to incorporate (minus the animation). Great minds think alike. :)

So how much time is left? What are you looking at as a deadline? Maybe I'll see if I can finish something acceptable.

-Michael.

Hi,

Good idea... everybody must have some pictures of work in progress.
Not always evident to show them before release.
Here a project of the harbour of Ostend.

Nice idea. Here is something for me. Hope you like it:

gMax shot of combined Sheraton Hotel and Congress Center with the lovely "Shhhhh sweet sleeper at work" ad:

gMax shot of my the first part of the reworked concourse A. If you look close, you can see people and ads through the windows. More interior details coming soon.

FS night shot of a earlier version of the new concourse a:

(And this effect -interior shining brightly out of the building- is the reason why I reworked this part (And saving some textures ;-) )

We still need more :) Even shots from the game itself.

I don't know if this is the sort of thing you want, my attempt to represent gauge and panel design :o :

Thats an amazingly good image. Did you do it with Photoshop? If so can I have the psd coz I have an idea

Thanks, here's the .psd although I'm not sure it will be of much use to you. The gauge image layers are just some hacked up bitmaps, the originals are in Xara vector format. What's your idea, maybe I can help? I have loads of this stuff I'd share but I'm reluctant to fork over the original artwork because it's all part of a (hopefully) payware gauge package I'm working on.

Love the new site but this DNS thing is driving me nuts. This is the fourth time I've tried to post this, I keep getting booted back to the old server and the DNS message. If I reboot the computer I can generally get into the new site for a few minutes and then I'll click on something and back I go. Is there some way to force the DNS update (CTRL+5 didn't seem to work, also tried "ipconfig /flushdns" and "ipconfig /registerdns")? I assume this is something that needs to take place locally on my own machine since rebooting gets me in briefly, am I correct on that?

Also, I know you're working on skins, but for the orange & black (hey, just in time for Halloween :D ) theme I noticed the a:visited link color of black renders some of the links invisible against the black background. In particular the text links in the left sidebar of the front page for "forums", "wiki", "downloads", etc. Not complaining, I'm sure you've got your hands full right now, just wanted to point that out in case you missed it.

Thanks for putting my gauge graphic into the animation on the front page, that looks really pretty good actually :) .

Thanks for the PSD. I was think of trying to get some images blending into each other i.e. by switchon and off some layers. If that makes any sense !!!!

i agree the image looks great on the homepage.

Re the links, what browser are you using? I thought I have forced them to orange via css.

I have no idea on the DNS issue its not something I have seen. Normally a <ctrl>+refresh would sort any cached page problems.

Regards

Alex

DNS is still updating... nearly there.

ipconfig /flushdns should do it along with a clear of your IE / Firefox cache.

Using IE6, they're orange if unvisited, red when active, orange on hover, but black if visited. Maybe I need to install IE7.

DNS issue seems to be better, probably should mention that I'm on dial-up so I'm connecting and reconnecting each time I go online which may have something to do with it.

Thanks,
Jim

IE6 is the only browser I have not tested it in, typical eh !!!

That sounds to me like the CSS aint working. I will see if I can find a machine with IE6 on it tomorrow.

I am away until Thursday, stuck in a hote so will have some time to play with images
