• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

hello,

my first effort , any suggestions ?

thank you .

Very nice beginning.

The first thing that pops out is that it looks that you've modelled your fuselage in one piece, so that the rear fuselage looks suddenly squashed.

It may look correct at the top and side views, but the sudden squashing is unrealistic.

Check some of the photos on airliners.net, etc. You should consider modelling the fuselage as one "well rounded piece" and the wing/fuselage box as a separate piece.

I think

hi,

finally a reply from someone .

i need them for my flaps and anything else that i need to animate .

i am asking for help with xml because newer models use this .

any suggestions ? please help.

thank you.

All of the "basic animations" already have XML scripts provided via the modeldef.xml file for FSX models. Simply use the Animation Manager Tool in Max/GMax to associate the animation name and keyframe limits to the selected part.

Or, if you're using FSDS, as I suspect, the basic animations for FS-X are available from the part properties <F2> dialog.

You assign the appropriate name from the FS-X animation tags list, and then key frame the part as appropriate.

hi,
i did try that using the tutorial that comes bundled along .
it seems i am not able to align the axis correctly to get the correct inclination .

so what was the hype behind TFS using xml for flaps ?was it the first time such a thing was done ?

thank you

hello,

i have understood the concept of inheritance , but i am still struggling with the animations.

if i rotate the parent (whole part ) it tilts in a way i do not want it to .

rotate the parent (vertices) it tilts correctly but the child part does not .

please help

thank you.

hello,

how can i make the landing gear doors?

i want it to merge well with the fuselage when closed .

thank you .

Awesome work Animay. Its really coming along.

Just a humble note. Lets say I said, 'can someone help me with my car', or 'can someone help me with some XML animations', it might seem that I am asking you to read my mind.

You may wish to ask for a certain exact area you need help with, like 'how would I create an ejection seat that would fly out the roof when I hit a button?

For all basic regular animations though, they are already done, such as ailerons, etc. Now if you needed an aileron animation done, for example, starting with one single animation to start with, then ask that. Dont ask for the hole can of worms... Start with just one.

This is only some humble advice. No embarrassment being thrown at you. I used to ask the same kinds of questions as I knew nothing about all of this. One 'must' do baby steps before they can walk. Dont try to run before you can walk.

Keep up the great work! Looking good!

hello,

i am so sorry to pick up an old thread .

i almost gave up modeling because of college and honestly dint know what to do next with my model .
i got my model into the sim but i think i have to tweak the 'air file' to get it to fly properly.
i am currently using the hs748 air file ( i know its ridiculous )
the aircraft orientation isnt correct and seems to be sunk under the ground .
could someone help with a link that explains how to go about making an air file from scratch .

thank you .

perseverance furthers

unless your studying aeronautical engineering, building an airfile from scratch is a big ask....to get your model sitting nicely on the runway, its the config file you need, specifically contact points.....theres a lot of tweaking to be had
in the cfg file....

for the air file its best to use airwrench, payware.....or aam freeware...i use both...if you keep banging your head against it, this craziness starts to make
sense, and eventualy becomes very sensible, and not at all crazy...jim

You need to take your help request to a dedicated AI group website like Military AI Works or Alpha-India Group.

You don't need to create a new .air or .cfg file from scratch. You just need to modify the default Lear 45 to fit your model.

AI models do not fly like or behave like user models and therefore should not be tweaked like a regular user model.
