• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Someone please help. I have FSDS V3.5.1. I have added both regular textures and night textures to my scenery. The night texture file name ends in "_lm". They show up fine in FSDS but when I compile into FS9, the day textures show and the night textures do not. You can still see the day textures at night but the night textures do not show. I have tried every single file format. No luck. I use EZ scenery as well.

Using "_LM" instead "_lm" change something? In Texture definition window, when you add the texture, do you have checked the Night case?

That's interesting. I had this problem with FSX scenery before updating FSDS from v3.5 to v3.5.1. Maybe the update messes up compiling for FS9. I still use v3.0 to compile for FS9.

How are you compiling?

If you're compiling for FS-2004, you must be using MakeMdl. Be sure you've specified to use Night textures.

Figured it out!!!

OK, thanks for the feedback. This is how I got it to work. I save the file to an X file. Opened up MakeMDL seperately from FSDS and imported the file. From there I told it to add night textures and created an MDL file. Then I made a new library object for EZ scenery and compiled a BGL. Opened up the sim dropped in the scenery and it worked. Day and night textures. Now I can complete my custom airport!!!!
