Arno helped me on this. We found that my bglcomp in my SDK seems to be ok.
so- there must be something happening o my computer that does not allow bglcomp to work.
I cannot compile bgls. error message usually says "this is a bgl of a type not supported"... etc.
This is not just FSDS but other small prorams that use bglcomp.
I tried replacing msxml4 but problem remains. Along with msxml4 there was a cab file... no instructions of where to put it.
Have not found anything on line pertaining to this problem. .... yet.
Not sure if this is the cause..... I have Auslogic defrag which has worked fine for years. I tried a trial version of their registry cleaner which allowed me to fix only 15 of the 90 problems found. I thne decided not to do this and I uninstalled the trial version.
Usually these reg cleaners have a back up which allows you do undo the "clean". I do not know if by uninstalling I lost the back up or not.
I have been wrned to stay away from these so-called reg cleaners and have done so for years. Why I tried it this time I don't know... dumb I guess.
Overall, I don't even know if this were the cause of the existing problem.... just a guess.
I'm just trying to remember anything odd-ball I did recently as a possible cause. help me out here and I promise I won't steal anyone's beer ever again... for 6 weeks.
