• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Good evenning
I Having problems with my parkingspots and hope you guys could rescue me again :)

When i go into FSX and would start in LOWW i only could choose "active runway" for start.
But not everytime, sometimes it is working.

I also heard it from some guys that they couldn't choose a gate. So its not only my FSX

i have added the .ad3 file.

Also one question.
Is it very bad to get "open Link" failure in Fault finder. checkt that but they are not open.

nice greatings

Parking spots are not the problem:

However, you have no runway links or hold-short nodes so AI will not operate correctly.

In FSX:

There are no open links but there are several overlapping parking spots.

BTW. You are using a very old version of ADE.

Thought that i have actuell lol, i will look for it thanks.

cause overlapping parking spot, and hold shorts
these scenery is build for online flying but i will add these.

any ideas why i have no gates at my side?

hello seelenkrieger

Adding to what George posted

Have you tried to compile the airport you attached to your post?

The water runway used to orphan the ILS you deleted has a length of 3.28ft. x width of 3.3 ft. The minimum has to be 3.3 ft for both settings for the postage stamp type runway to compile. The newer version of ADE sets the water runway for the orphan ILS's to 4ft x 4ft in case a slight rounding down occurs.

these scenery is build for online flying

It does not matter if the airport is for user only online flying. You still need all the elements that make up a proper taxiway network including the runway link line. Without the complete network in place some may and some may not see all the parking spots.

You can also delete all the ILS approaches for the deleted ILS. There are a total of 9 since all the ILS approaches have been duplicated.

Is it very bad to get "open Link" failure in Fault finder

if the link is not open but ADE says it is then set the distance

open the Fault Finder
select options
set the distance

I sometimes have the same situation when, in FSX, I choose a starting airport (one which I know has valid parking, etc) and, when I go to the "Choose runway / starting position", all I get is the runways. I also notice that the airport name that I selected in the box above has been 'un-highlighted'. Even if I reselect the airport name so that it becomes 'highlighted' when I go down to choose a parking spot, all I get is the runways again. What I often do is allow FSX to position me at a 'runway end', then I go back to the menus to re-position myself at the same airport when I find that the drop-down list for "Choose runway / starting position" is now fully functional!

I assume that this is a strange FSX quirk and just put up with it although it is a bit frustrating. So I think that this has NOTHING to do with the airport design as it is a variable situation - whether it is a default FSX airport or one I have modified, sometimes it happens, sometimes it works!

hope ADE 1.65 is now the latest one
Have done the runwaylinks and the hold short points.
But no changes at my side.

I know you guys will think "oh my gosh what are you doing".
I have made more files for LOWW.
1 for adex, 1 for the ground layout, 1 for buildings, ....
everything with ADE so there is in every file LOWW as airport info.
So could it be that FSX search in the false file for the parkings?

If you have three separate files, they will be loaded alphabetically. If the last one loaded has a "<DeleteAirport" tag, you may lose yor starts.

Just tried it that the last file loading is adex. no changes again.

and also can't say what file make proplems cause insert file by file. suddenly it didn't work any more.
delete last insert file and it don't work any more.

if someone have an idea.

I'm now a little uninspired, of the problemsolving

You have compiled a single airport in 3 different bgl's. Many parts that make up the airport are split unevenly between the 3 bgl's. You cannot have half of the taxiway network in one bgl and the other half of the taxiway/parking spot network in another bgl and then duplicate parking spots in another bgl. All 3 airports have the same Comms and approach data which duplicates all the attributes and some of the bgl's have multiple sets of Navaids and exclusions.

In effect, you have three separate airports (with two different reference points). The only one which will be active is LOWW_Instand_Scenery, which deletes parts of the other two.

OK then it rely happens what i thought in post 6.
How is it possible to say him that in these files are no airport or navaids?
that he only use the adex file for it and the rest are only the buildings or GP?

P.S.: Now i know why it was so easy to build :(

All of those files contain airports, that is the problem. Only one should contain an airport and the others should contain only scenery placement.

dear George
I understood what you mean.
and that was also the Question, how i get the airport out?
i have looked at the XML code and also saw that the Taxiwaysign are in the <airport> section

OK i think i found it will check it tomorrow, now to the company party :)

OK.

In fact the files in the RAR contain 6 airports!

What you need to do is, in ADE, "Load Airport from BGL" and browse to LOWW_ADEX.BGL

Next, "Import BGL" and select LOWW_Buildings.BGL

Then repeat for:

LOWW_Insant_Scenery.BGL
LOWW_lines.BGL
LOWW_texture.BGL
LOWW_texture_WEIP.BGL

Save and compile.

Then copy your compiled bgl into your scenery area and remove the following files:

LOWW_ADEX.BGL
LOWW_Buildings.BGL
LOWW_Insant_Scenery.BGL
LOWW_lines.BGL
LOWW_texture.BGL
LOWW_texture_WEIP.BGL

On my system there is one missing model and one missing texture, but the parking spots are all available and the buildings display in FSX:

Edit. You will find that there are unwanted taxi-signs littered about the airport.

You can get rid of the unwanted taxi-signs by loading stock data (taxi-signs) then deleting all of size 3.

BTW. There are still no Hold-Short nodes nor runway centre-lines.

many thanks do you now it is working
Just set "Compile Seperate Airport and Object Bgl files" and delete every Airport.bgl from all files without the ADEX file

many many thanks :)
