• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

no texture found

Hi Don,

Sorry but I think I found something that is not very "catholic" as a consequence of your latest update: I can no longer choose an FS9 aircraft to convert.
Program says it can find no texture when I browse to my FS2004\aircraft folder.
I.e. I open SAMM, I check 'get aircraft from FS9' , select the fs2004\ aircraft folder in the list and get the message 'texture folder not found'.

Hello Don,

I found it.
For your info and for others that could be confronted with the same problem:
The culprit was an 'orphan' aircraft.cfg in the aircraft folder.

Roby, I replied to your first post yesterday, but my reply seems to have disappeared into the "ether".

Even though you've found the culprit, could you be a little more specific about what you were trying to do at the time, please?

Don

Hello Don,

Well I tried to make a static model of an FS9 aircraft.
And so, I opened SAMM and checked 'get aircraft from FS9' .
The FS2004 folder showed up and I noticed there was no + in front of 'aircraft'. I clicked it anyway and Samm said ''texture folder not found'.
Not sure how I can be more specific.
Anyway, it appears that Samm is probably looking for the first aircraft.cfg entry in the aircraft list and when it finds it and does not find the texture file that is referenced in it, you get this error message.

So, my reply of yesterday didn't "disappear into the ether"; it's in the thread you started in the AIFP forum. And, of course, the issues are more understandable now that we're in the right forum. .

Why don't you send me the aircraft folder that caused the problem so I can see what's going on.

Don

Morning Don,

You do not get my point. There is nothing wrong with Samm and nothing wrong with the aircraft.cfg.
When there is a lone aircraft.cfg (it does not matter which one) left by mistake in the aircraft folder (e.g. FS2004\aircraft\aircraft.cfg instead of FS2004\aircraft\B727\aircraft.cfg), that is when Samm says there is no texture file found.
So, Samm is in fact too catholic:).
