• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Not able to create FSX library

I'm probably looking over something obvious but when I try to create a library, I only get the option to make a FS9 library. The List of FSX is disabled, together with the button "Select All" underneath.

What version of AFLT are you using? There is no "Select All" button on the Make Library dialog. If the latest version, there should be a set of radiobuttons across the bottom of the dialog that indicates the Flightsim versions AFLT has detected installed. The FSX list will remain disabled until you select other than FS9. If FS9 is the only radiobutton shown, then AFLT has not detected any other version installed on your system.

Hi Don,

I am using version 2.1.0.1

The button is indeed not called "Select All", I wrote the previous post out of memory. The button I'm talking about is "Check All". I attached a screenshot so it shows clearly.

I am using FSX:SE, and it got detected by the program, I found this in the ini file which seems correct to me as it is the installation folder:
Code:
Path to FSX=D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\FSX
Path to FSX.cfg=C:\Users\ward\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX\FSX.cfg

There is one more thing I would like to mention:
When I create a new Element, and I select the format Std. instead of FS9, I save. But when I recall the element (e.g select another one and then select the first one again), it shows FS9 again. I don't know if this might be an issue or is expected behavior.

Note: I copied the P3D SDK into the FSX:SE SDK folder, as this last one is not included into the SE version of FSX. I don't know if this matters

I don't see anything wrong in the screenshot, other than you have not selected the FSX radio button. (I admit that, if there's only one radio button it should be checked automatically - something to consider in the next release). But, for the moment, if you check that button the FSX listbox should be enabled. Also, please note, unless you have some highly transparent custom model, it will be very difficult to distinguish between FS9 and FSX models.

To save you asking the next question, when FSX-SE is installed on a system where FSX is not previously installed, it sets its registry items indicating it is FSX. hat's why you see a FSX radio button and not one for FSX-SE. Other applications have no way of knowing (without a lot of further analysis) whether it's dealing with FSX or FSX-SE and, in any case, it doesn't otherwise matter.

As for FS9 vs Std., that simply controls the format of the displayed Guid.

I cleaned up my project folder and started all over again, and now ADE accepts the library. Previously I got an error saying some objects were not FSX objects. This is why I thought it had something to do with the FS9 or FSX models selection..
Anyway, whatever it was, it's solved :) thanks!
