• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

X280 is an Irish Air Corps Pilatus PC-10 out of Kerry, UAL15 is a 787-10 and CWY08E is a Woodgate Aviation C-200 Kingair. The two at Dublin are a RyanAir B737-600 and an Aer Lingus A330-300. While typing this, the A330 just launched for Chicago. To the best of my recollection I have heard just one overflight in over a month.
 
You would be overflown more often here - helicopters, a 747 freighter two days ago, Airbus Atlas regularly practicing touch&goes and a C-17 this morning. Also ambulance sirens in the background. Just another day in paradise.
 
$2 trillion distributed to banks and corporations, so it's "back to work" here, they say. One of my 2 hour commutes to gather nuts, crosses the Columbia River near Portland International. For about 30 miles of that trip, you could see them lining up into the Gorge.
Now, I marvel to see a 172 on final and no other plane in sight. For the duration of that 30 miles, I might see one or two cargo flights landing or taking off.
Lot's of helicopters in the Gorge. Military and of course, Life Flight.
 
It looks like it could be like this for some time to come, as it is not possible for passengers to socially distance themselves because the air conditioning and pressurisation systems recycle the air so any viral particles will be transmitted throughout the aircraft cabin , I suppose passengers could wear masks which would be okay on short-haul flights but might be impractical on medium and long-haul flights.

What I have seen in my garden (apart from the normal bird population) are wood pigeons. They're normally a very shy bird, mostly because of their size. Yesterday I also had a magpie come up and regard me from around six feet away, then peck at a few beetles and take off to feed his/her youngsters. Normally that's unheard of.

EasyJet are going for the middle-seat-empty roadshow. Think about it - you're still less than three feet from the person in front and behind you, so it achieves next to nothing.

Posturing seems pretty significant as the rules for societies conduct get rewritten, considering the notion that grocery shopping now carries a similar responsibility to the idea that what one is driving is a two ton weapon. Wow, ones conduct matters, way to hammer it home. Anyway...the way things are going, it seems like airlines might get better results posturing themselves as the ambassadors to virtual reality, than posturing themselves as socially responsible.
 
Well, my nearest and favourite airport might be the first and only one that you can pronounce "dead by COVID-19" because there's no way in hell that TXL is going to reopen once it "temporarily" shuts down in June due to lack of traffic.
 
Maybe our social distancing in public will evolve into strange behavior, similar to bird courting rituals.:laughing:

Have you ever watch a pair of scorpions doing the mating ritual. This involves clasping claws at as much distance as possible. The male then deposits his present on the ground and tries to manoeuvre his intended into position over it. The challenge once he gets her there is to get unclasped and away before she stings him to death and devours him for lunch. Since he is going backwards at this point it can be tricky.

Umm Dick, have you been living in a monastery or on a lone island for, like, forever?

No animal in the universe exhibits stranger courting rituals than homo sapiens. Especially when between 15 and 20 and/or intoxicated.

If the airlines change out the HEPA filters after every flight it shouldn't be a problem...
 
Masks do not stop you catching the virus, they help to prevent you directly infecting other people. As anyone who is infected will have the particles on their skin and clothing you will probably pickup the virus in the airport before you even board the plane.
 
The University of Wisconsin did a study on the contagion of the common cold (rhinovirus). They found overwhelmingly the best defense was gloves, with antivirus-embedded gloves nearly 100% effective.
