• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Object under terrain

Hey there.

I have this problem since 3 years ago and still no luck, only if I move my CVX file from a blank airport to default scenery folder in p3d (addon scenery->scenery and texture folders) I got the hole in the terrain, but if I move the file to my main airport directory the hole dissapears, I can't leave it like this with bunch of folders just for one terrain hole, any suggestions please?

I think you'd have to zip an actual example rather than a bunch of pictures. You're telling us your flatten works in one folder, but not another? Right?

I can add the files successfully. In P3D, I first got rid of ORBX files that were having higher priority than the added LWSK folder. I also made sure the mesh setting was slid all the way to the right (1 meter).

My guess is that another folder has higher priority in the Scenery Library, and that is over-riding your flattens.

I disabled all the ORBX sceneries then tried again with higest priority on LWSK folder but no luck.

I deactivated ALL the sceneries in the library including the default p3d sceneries, and it works quite good now, but I don't know what causes the problem...

EDIT:

I found the problem, it was a scenery file from ORBX

ORBX_Vector_APT and ORBX_Vector_CVX now im looking for solution about these files.

The Vector was the problem, completely reinstalled them and it works now but I have some free space between each edge, why?

I don't think a flatten will give a 90 degree slope (true vertical). You might need to overlap the object into the near-vertical slope.

Uuh im not sure i understood this to overlap the object into the near vertical slope, can i do it with the mcx object to terrain bgl?

Hello:

You may wish to create terrain 'skirt' extensions off edges of 3D objects and map "ground" textures onto them.

If seasonal ground textures are required on terrain 'skirts', there are ways to do that with 3D objects as well.
