• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Thank you Gary.In short way please tell me, Ii just need to apply new airport flatten -few meters and put my garages under it?? Thanks.I just need cut in the terrain..nothing else..

You can make a flatten with ADE there.
You can change the individual points in ADE to make it sloped.

But because of the crisp edge...

The wall and grass surrounding it would need to be a 3d model to compensate for whatever mesh the user has set. It's not easy to do. Make sure the flattens don't overlap

If they have their mesh too high, (19m etc) the ground polys might be placed at the wrong altitude so turn off grouping on export.

The default elevation of the airport is approx. 287m (I dont have it near me right now) so I created new airport like Tic said in his thread and make an flatten but it didnt work, its normal in the sim, also i tryed to make an apron over the all airport becouse i didnt get the right coordinates and it worked but i want to make to my object and with my own ground poly not like default ADE concrete, btw check your PM please I'll send you something .. Thanks

Please indicate whether this is for ICAO: LWSK.

If so, please indicate exactly where the "underground garages" are located at ...in 1 or more labeled screenies.

And if this is ICAO: LWSK, is the garage under the terminal building, or the outside surface parking lot nearby ? :scratchch

It is near the terminal building (the enter of the garages), the inside of the garages is under the terminal but i dont care about it ..Btw i just opened ADE and make an flatten and put my object with IS3 in P3D it looks good but the flatten is not in the same position (i get the real object coordinates from ADE)

I don't recall whether the IS3 scenery library object placement "offset" problem is evident in P3D as well as FSX, but IIRC it is associated with use of Draw Call Batching in one's MDL.

But reportedly, one may be able to prevent this offset from occurring by a simple fix in one's 3-D model.

Extend the base foundation of the ex: terminal building, so that "base" can be placed below the local ground surface of the terrain mesh (with the intended 'visible' portion of the "upper" building still seen at its proper position above ground level).

This requires the IS3 placement Object Property 'Altitude' to be a "minus" elevation, not a "positive" AGL value. :pushpin:

Make sure that you use the latest version of ADE. The older version cannot do that.

Make another ADE file and make airport with the flatten to the level you need. Compile to bgl. Make another folder for this FAKE airport (scenery and texture folder). Put the bgl inside scenery folder and put this fake airport to the library at higher level than the REAL airport. It should work.

Here is the new airport (ICAO: LWSS) (DEFAULT ICAO: LWSK)
I set the elevation to 228.049 (default: 238.049)
Using helper shape i made this polygon and convert it to flatten
I set it to the real object coordinates (from FS and ADE)

Into scenery sub-folder I put the file which is exported already to desktop (LWSS-GARAGE_CVX)

Here is the new airport (Alexander the Great Airport (LWSS)) in Prepar3D

Not working

I am not sure if you put the folder of the new fake airport to the right place.
It needs to be in the Addon Scenery folder such as Addon Scenery/LWSS.

i put the folder like Addon Scenery - Skopje X (the default airport) - scenery, texture,Terrain (sub-folder in terrain is scenery and texture), wrong?

I want to make this the same
