• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hope someone else has heard of this
My objectplacement tool is listed and works, finally but now Icant get any assects listed when I try to add them. no airports no planes nothing to choose from. from what ive seen when you hit add then scenery there shuold be moldels listed, IS there some place i can check to see if the objectplacement tool is finding the correct path:confused:

this maybe related? Ive made a model in Gmax buillt the blg's put them in the scenry libary FSX sees them and loads them but models dont appear, so I went to look at the listing in the objectplacement tool, that is when i found out that I cant get anylisting

Any thoughts would be of a great help

Hi,

The OPT should automatically list all library objects from active sceneries. Are you saying that you see no object at all? Not even the default library objects?

Btw, custom objects will show with their GUID, not with the friendly name. This is an OPT limitation.

Thanks for the quick reply, you are a good man
Thats right I have no listings at all. just blank property sets.
I am thinking that the OPT for some reason cant find any Lib.
Dont really know what to do next

Hi Folks

LuckyMurray -
For the OPT to appear on the FSX in-game menu
FSX needs to know where the OPT is installed, (uses path in dll.xml).

For the OPT to read bgl libraries,
the OPT needs to know where FSX is installed, (uses path in registry).

If FSX's registry entry is incorrect
the OPT scenery listbox will be empty.

Hi Folks

Lucky -
Have you run configsdk.exe ?
Do so, (as admin).

Additionally -
- Did you install FSX using admin permissions ?
- Did you install the SDK using admin permissions ?
- Are you running FSX as admin ?

Well, well, silly me, no one told me that I had to click on the blank Lib space to get the libary to list, just like you have to do when you are loading AddonScenery with Windows 7, found that out by a slip of the finger.
So if you cant get your libary to show in the OPT try cliking in the blank libary space. It works for me...lol
Thanks everyone\Thanks BASys
Lucky out :)
