• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Odd problem

One of the users of my scenery is having a very strange problem when my Simulating Art Phoenix Photoreal scenery is installed. He claims that runway headings on all airports in the sim are off from their true heading, some drastically. His example is KSEA. Runway 34 which should have a heading of 340, shows a heading of 0 when my files are installed and is proper when he uninstalls them. I can't think of anything I might have done that would create such an effect, especially out of the area my scenery resides in.

What could cause such a thing? I wouldn't have a clue where to start looking.

Hi Art,

The only thing that comes in mind is a magnetic variation settings. Probably there is a mistake with value sign (+/-). I'm not sure if it has an influence on the neigborhood though. May be your user aligns his/her compass, IRS or another navigation system in misbehaving airport? Then the whole world changes its heading. ;)

Hi Art,

Are we talking about Fs2004 or Fs2002 here? The only thing like this that I can remember is strange headings in Fs2002 when Fs2004 AFCAD had been loaded.

Good question. The user never said whether they're using 02 or 04. It would boggle my mind if anyone was still in 2002. My copy of 2004 cost me 24.95 a year ago. It's probably $15 now if you search around.
