• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Using today's download, I loaded a 28MB bgl without a problem, but as I was stepping through the models I got an OOM:

It seems like a memory leak, as I stepped through the models, memory used kept increasing.

Hi George,

You know I have a low end computer.
Because of your entry I hesitated in downloading the latest release.
So I put it in seperately from my current MCX.
As I do not have any addon BGL's big enough, I imported the default landmarks bgl (56 or so Mb's).
And I have no trouble at all. Went through each individual model and checked my memory usage but it did not come above 1.62 (I have only 2 Gb of RAM memory).
Something else I should do to be able to confirm a possible bug in MCX?

The only thing of note is that there was a missing texture and another couple of textures which failed to load.

It also fails when attempting to create a report.

The memory used at the failure is 1,392,924KB with 835,000KB available.

Hi George,

It seems to be related with the texture loading indeed.

Do you have the idea that older versions could load this library fine?

Those out of memory crashes are annoying, since they sometimes happen in the .net framework even before your actual ram runs out. That makes them hard to find.

It works fine on 64bit W7 :)

Ah, great, those are the nicest bugs to fix :D. I'll try to fire up my XP virtual machine later and see if I can spot some issues in it.
