• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FSXA Overpowered aircraft with correct engine thrust

The turbofan engines on my aircraft are each rated at 9,220 lbs, which is what I have entered in the .AIR file and the .CFG (I read that thrust ratings in the .CFG are ignored anyway), but this tweak results in an extremely overpowered aircraft that can go overspeed at near-idle thrust, and surely cannot make a descent without breaking apart in midair. :duck: What table, or set of tables do I need to adjust in order to suppress the engines and reduce the insane amount of thrust being produced? I'm guessing it has something to do with the aircraft's weight and/or the airfoil's efficiency. :scratchch I use Aircraft Airfile Manager V2.2.

Tables 1502 to 1507 are the places to go. Plenty discussions about them in this subforum.

It's a REALLY helpful tool to read out almost every flight params. This way you can easily find out what forces are currently produced by the engines and so on...

Next I would suggest the same like Björn. Edit tables 1502 - 1507, jx_ offered some great methods on this.

Also ensure your drag curve is properly set. I use table 154a for that, which you can get from the F-18 airfile ;)
