• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

P3D v4 P3D / MSFS Fokker 130

Sadly that didn't work, the wheel only wants to steer to the right, even when I steer left.

@Osian , that startup animation was beautiful...Would you be open to sharing how you achieved such a smooth acceleration of the fan from 0 RPM up to fuel introduction? Did you create an L:var for fan rotation angle or make a sort of auto-play animation that only shows during startup (or some other kind of magic?)

The way it is done is through a custom animation in the modeldef file.
Though it is not my animation but I am allowed to use it.
I am also not sure if I am allowed to state his name.

Hey, its been a while.

For those who are wondering, no the project is not cancelled.
Just had a burnout on the project.
But I'm back :)

Here is the current status and plans for what needs to be done.
Though progress will probably remain slow, at least here is a sign of life :rotfl:

I will likely be dropping FSX support however.
This is due to a few reasons which I won't state here but has been an issue for a while with a few other developers as well.

It is good and great to see you back and working in the Fokker / Blender hanger again Osian.
Keep'm coming those WIP-development screenshots.

So it is likely this project will also be released on MSFS in the future.
Although it is a very different work flow.
P3D is still happening of course.
The MSFS version will likely include the default A320 cockpit as I never made a complete VC.
I am working on something else as well which is still a "secret" which will also have a full VC and maybe passenger cabin for MSFS.

It's funny looking at this model.
it's so old by now, development started in 2015.
So many quirks in the model which are nearly impossible to improve without remodeling.
I know I can do better now, but I just want this project finished so I can do other things :p
She's been in my hangar way to long.

I could not fix a weird issue with the nose gear doors scaling.
So what I did was open old version of the plane where the doors did not exist yet, cut out a piece of fuselage from that file and merge it with the current file.
Then I redid the doors (also more accurately)

Hope I will be able to finish the plane this year, I will have a lot more time on my hands.
Hope I will also be able to find the courage to release it...

This will be the first and last P3D plane I'll make as I have big plans for MSFS :)

Just jeep on the steady chugging forward Osian, eventually you will get there !

Looks like the F130 finally runs in "new" blender.
I was still using 2.79 for this one project and now it runs in 2.82 like my other projects, which is still not the most recent but it works for now :p
Now waiting to see if I find any issues in the future.

Also added the short term work to be done still, then after that I will check again what has to be done.

I might release this model as a resource on this site and not an add-on.
I just have to look at what the most optimal version is.
This project has too much emotional baggage for me to continue (super long story).

It technically works in P3D but limited and definitely looks unfinished.

The model is a near 10 year old mess though and my modeling skills have evolved over time, so if I share it.... don't expect any great quality.

So, I might pack the P3D model and Blender model into 1 zip file and make this entire plane open source like I've done with my other resources.
