I have wanted to do this for ages. You guys (in Scenery) turned me on to SBuilderX. Just now got Camelback Mountain into Phoenix in FSX and P3D V4.

This will be so nice to have the right mountains textures in the sim.. I have been badly bothered by these since FSX came out. Now.... I can repair them. :)
I left a bit of that golf course on. I am going to add some surrounding area into the 'blend' zones. I wanted to clip out the houses, but maybe this will blend better with neigh

Looks a bit pink.. In real life, it is slightly pink but more brownish, I think.

What it looks like in the sim without it.

What it looks like in the sim without it.

Now all the other mountains stand out like sore thumbs. Much work to do. :S

So happy to get this working. A bit overly jubilant. :)

Great work Bill. That's how it starts though. Next you'll want the whole city in photoreal, then the state.....;)

Are these the same as the so called Superstitious Mountains?

Negative. Those are massive, but look a little similar. (The legend of the Lost Dutchmans gold mine). The plane looking at the mountain range is pointing West towards California. The Superstitions are behind me, due East, about 50 to 100 miles away. Not far.

Yep, lolol...

Now the other mountain range that has been bothering me. This is the White Tanks mountain range near Luke Airforce Base.

I didnt go with high resolution. I just wanted that golf course and forest off the half side.

what about using the freeware from Bluesky Scenery which do cover up all those regions? Then you don't have to do it all by yourself again.

Check it out here: Bluesky Scenery

I was able to download 4 maps of the 45. I was going to download about 8 of them, which is the entire area around Phoenix, but I now get a popup, stating the web is for sale.

Very impressive maps... Nice work. No Autogen, which you do not really notice up in the air. On the ground it looks strange.

We have so many hills and mountains in Phoenix. Today I was wondering.. it would be a ton of work doing all those mountains. My idea would keep the autogen areas and only the mountains and large hills are textured with realistic photo textures.

Strange?

I just tried and it is working for me:

I would have suggested Bluesky scenery too. I have a lot of their stuff, and it is amazing. I just thought you were having fun making it .

Cheers,

Just tried it again... Same thing.

I didnt catch the top part, which shows the domain is for sale.

At the top of the grey screenshot, you can see 'buy this domain'. This is what I get when I click 'scenery' on the download area.

This is where I clicked at..

Oh yeah, I do get the same thing when I try the squares you pointed out. I also tried another one and the connection timed out. I wonder if it has something to do with the trouble OzX, FSFiles, and FlightSim Store have been having recently. From memory JayKaye was helping out with hosting some of these files.

Bill, try downloading what you can, and let me know which sections you can't get and I will see what I have. I did download some BS Arizona, but I'm not sure if I got all of it. I also got most of California and some of Utah.

Cheers,

Try to download 'em at Flightsim.com. There are all of them online.

Roger that. I'll check it out again. Maybe they cap the amount of downloads. I had downloaded 4 and was going to number 5 when it stopped working. But also this was for other tiles, not central Phoenix.

I'll also check out Flightsim.com.
