• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

P3D v4 Photoreal background is blurred

Hi All,
I am working on EBFN Koksijde AB on the Belgian coast.
I want to make a photoreal background with SBuilderX 3.15.
But on ALL tile servers of SBuilderX this airport is blurred.
Only USGS Earth Explorer, but I can't load these tiles.
I then went to the USGS website and downloaded ALL the necessary images (70 pieces).
Afterwards I merged all these images into 1 BMP image of 344Mb.
I'll have to edit this image later with GIMP2.

Can I make a photoreal of this?

Grtz, not sure what you are asking. By that I mean I do not see why you cannot make photoreal scenery of your image you've created. In your inf file you will need to create, you will need to add coordinates for your 344MB image in order to process it into a bgl file. Is that what you are asking?

Hi, thanks for your comment,

That's exactly what I'm asking.
I do indeed have an image (344Mb) that can serve as photoreal.
In SbuilderX you have the coordinates North, East South West.
I do not have that.

I'm starting to understand where you're going.
- I make a square/rectangle around the airport.
- I'm looking for the coordinates.
- Write it in the .inf file
- To create the BGL file.

How to make a photoreal into a BGL I know, I've made dozens of them already
But it is a challenge to find the coordinates. Thanks for your tip,
I'm going to work on this right away and I'll be sure to let you know the result.

I did the merging of the pictures with MS paint.
This is an almost impossible thing.
All photos must be glued together.
Your total image has failed at the slightest mistake.
It is impossible to add a tile afterwards.
After five (failed) attempts I have therefore decided to put an end to it.
Sorry, no photoreal for this scenery.

thanks for your help,
Peter

Have you ever tried using the program called SAS Planet to make imagery? Generates a .kml file that you can use for your boundaries and is very easy to figure out.

I am downloading SAS Planet and studying the tutorial. Then I'm going to try this.
Anyway, thank you

Hello:

Try SBuilderX tileserver for ESRI ArcGIS World Imagery; it is the sharpest EBFN imagery I can find via SBuilderX or SASPlanet at this time.

SBuilderX tileserver for ESRI ArcGIS World Imagery is the same ESRI ArcGIS World Imagery as available via Global Mapper.

SASPlanet > Maps >Satellite > ESRI ArcGIS.Clarity seems less sharp and requires image sharpening, as well as contrast and color correction.

There may not be imagery available without blurring for this military base via European / Belgian GIS servers; it is obscured purposely.
