• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Is there a tutorial on how to do this with Sbuilder?, I am trying to place some photoreal backgound on an airfield but can´t get it right....thanks

Hi Falcon49....

I get the photoreal texture in with XBuilder alright and no problem generating the bgl but...

1) How can I get only a "small piece" which I need to place an airfield in?

2) why do I get the photoreal bgl to "hang" higher than the ground I have the plane sitting on ???

I see your airports in SOH and they look great.;)

Its incredible how many read but so few answer.......:confused:
Yep, I get that too. I figure they are either having the same problem and view this post to see if there's an answer, or they just stop by to see what the question is and have no idea how to fix it. . .or. . .they know the answer but don't have the time to type a long answer so just blow it off and finally there are those few who know the answer and take the time to help those of us trying to learn the art of scenery design and don't mind giving us the secrets we need to know to make it easier and less complicated. Thanks to those folks.

Have you figured out the photoreal tricks yet? My only problem lately has been that the servers in SBX no longer want to yield any Hi-Res images.

Hello,

There are so many tutorials and discussion forums that, in general, we should read them before asking. Sometimes I need a short answer and I know that I could find it after browsing some forum or downloading (and reading) some tutorial. Then I am tempted to place the question in a forum trying to save time (browsing fora or reading tutorials needs time). However I assume that I will only take 2 minutes to someone that knows the answer to my question. I will not post the question if I think that someone to answer it has to spend 1 hour in gathering and putting together information. In that case I will spend that hour myself.

I do not know if the problem you refer to regarding SBX servers is addressed in this post:

naw....I will continue my "studies" by myself and see what comes out...there are, like Luis says, so many tutorials which usually hardly work that its maddening...anyway am making slow progress and that´s enough for me. I don´t sell my stuff so I just dedicate the time I want on this for my own fun and some freeware when I think it looks allright....besides I have many solid models to build which take a lot of time and probably are more satisfying.......I´ll keep plukking along...........:p:p:p

You are so right Luis, the problem I find is that many tutorials are just--"Run overs"--or very simple steps that do not get into the meat of the situation, just a glance and they do not resolve...I wonder why people write things that don´t help but rather confuse sometimes. I usually read, follow the steps more than once and only if they don´t resolve the issue I come here and ask.....asking people to carry you over a river when you can swim is not my piece of cake ....just to clear the air........:o
