• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Problems in execution of Autogen FSX

Hi People,
I installed de SDK to FSX and run SP1 from this application. The terrain tools and others run OK.
But the autogen open and close in flashmode !!! appears and vupt dessapears. :confused:
I tried al the compatibility modes.... but nothing. The old autogens runned ok.
I unnistalled the old ...
I have other problems that I bellieved is correlated to this one. I don´t have the prompt of Dos in my acessories program bar. I don´t know why.
To runs dos programs I have to go to help of windows and clik prompt to dos, tha I have the dos in my screen.
I appreciated any suggest to fix this errors.

Supposing your windows XP is the Portuguese version, if you want the DOS screen visible, just click in the main windows left side bottom: "Iniciar" (INIT).
Then, click: "Executar" (RUN). In the textbox "abrir" (open) write: CMD

This has noting to do with flight simulator, at all.

Hi Jorge.

In the folder "C:\WINDOWS\system32" there should be an application named 'cmd.exe'

That program can be copied to any other folder or the desktop. It can be double-clicked and then will open a DOS window with the path set to the current window.

I solved the problem of cmd.exe.
But, maybe and I did a mistake in says "autogen", in fact the problem it is with the Annotator from FSX.
I did get to open and stay with it in the screen. ...
José , are you Portuguese ..., if you want we could by email in this language, perharps will be better.

About your autogen problem, I understand that your program is not opening. Is that the question?

Now, I am not in my computer with FSX, to try opening Autogen, but I had done it before without problem. I suppose you have the FSX Pro and installed the upgrade from Microsoft, ok?

Let´s wait if others guys have experienced something like that and could send any help to you. As soon as I will be in my computer I will try to open Autogen again and give you some feedback.

Hello Jorge,

I had the same problem with the Annotator closing down very quickliy after opening its basic window.

The reason for this might be the following:

- the file "default.xml", which is originally only located in "FSX\Autogen", has to be copied into the same folder together with the "annotator.exe"

- the proper paths in some of the SDK-tools will be found only, when the SDK is installed in the default-directory offered by Microsoft. In case that the SDK's are installed elsewhere, you have to run the tool "ConfigSDK.exe" to be found in the SDK-directory. With this you can correct the missing paths.

- just for the sake of completeness I want to metion here, that of course the SDK-Service-Pack 1 has to be installed - which I believe is the case with you.

I hope this helps - it did in my case.
