FSXA Problems installing SDK plugins at 3DS

Hi guys,

At work we have some 3DS Max 2013 (32 bits). I've tried to install the FSXA SDK plugins at 3DS - according to http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc526976.aspx#3dsmax -but when I restart the software I always get this error message:

"Não foi possível localizar o ponto de entrada do procedimento ?GetRsrcString@ClassDesc@@UAEPADH@Z na biblioteca de vínculo dinâmico core.dll"

Ok... It is portuguese. The english version should be something like "It was not possible to locate the entrance point on procedure @GetRsrcString@ClassDesc@@UAEPADH@Z at dynamic library core.dll"

After that, I get another window showing the message "DLL <C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X SDK\SDK\Environment Kit\Modeling SDK\3DSM9\Plugins\Max9_FSModelExp.dle> failed to initialize. Error code 127 - It was not possible to find specified procedure".

Then the first window shows up again, and the second message now refers to "Max9_MaxUtils.gup"; and at third time it complains the same thing about "Max9_MaxXML.gup".

Can anyone please help me?

Thank you.

The FSX plugins do not work with Max versions newer than 2008. Get the Prepar3D v1.4 SDK for Lockheed Martin's plug-in, which is compatible with FSX. It's a free download. You may need v2 of the sdk to work with Max 2013, but you'll still need v1.4 for the FSX-compatible version of XToMDL.exe.

Hope this helps.

And if I get a 3DS 2014 (64 bits), can I use the same Prepar3D SDK v1.4 or the newest v2?

With Max 2014 you'll need v2. Exporting to FS from Max is a two-step process: export to .X, then compile the .X file to .MDL. For the second step, version 1.4's XtoMDL is the only one which gives an FSX-compatible .MDL

Hope this helps.

Hi all.

I have Prepar3D SDK V2 installed, and I tried to install the plugins in 3ds max 2013 on both 32 and 64 bit.
I'm having the exact same error as hippolyto mentioned above...
The plugins supplied with SDK V2 they don't seem to work with max 2013.
Is there a work around for this? Do I have to use another max version?
Thanks.

By the way, I'm on Win 8.1 64 bit.

Unfortunately, no one ever compiled an export module for Max2013. They went straight from Max2012 to Max2014. Max2013 users will either have to upgrade to Max2014, or downgrade to Max2012.

Thanks, I guess your're right.
I checked with Max2015 trial and no errors anymore, the plugins installed ok, although the FS shader and Cloud tool don't work - I get a non supported message on these two - not a big problem for me, anyway.

I do not know about an FS Shader. The FSX material shows up in Max and it exports properly to MDL and works properly in P3D and my shaders in P3D work correctly. Are you talking about a type of viewing program 'in' Max?

EDIT: Ok.. I see this. I just looked at the flyout for Aces tools and found what you are talking about; 'Update to and Work with FSX Shaders'. I'll have to experiment and see if mine is working. I do not want to risk it on my present project. I havent heard of this.
