• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hi Guys,

I am in the market for C++, C#, and/or VB.net developers...

Programming related around the development of a new multi-player client for FS2004, FSX, P3D (X-Plane?) (SimConnect & FSUIPC). The client will form part of a new open standard "FSMPP" (Flight Simulator Multi-Player Protocol) currently in development / documentation stages.

The idea here is to establish a OPEN, WELL DOCUMENTED *standard* for multi-player networks in terms of Flight Simulation instead of the current situation where everyone basically does their own thing. The end result, will hopefully be a set of open standards, which will be endorsed by the community, and opening up the very closed, undocumented, and secretive implementations of multi-player networks in the Flight Simulation area in terms of server and client development for multi player networks...

My main areas of concern (that I want this position to focus on), is the establishment of the multi-player environment (multi-player and/or AI objects), movement and controls of these objects, animation of objects (gear, flaps, pitch/bank, etc. - as highly detailed and animated as possible), dynamic scenery placements, dynamic bgl (afcads) if possible, etc. Essentially, I am after as much as what is theoretically possible.

This will be a paid job (negotiable), obviously with a lot of room for additional work in the future. I'm hesitant at this stage to say this, but depending on location(s), circumstances, and a few other factors, this may even become a permanent position in the future.

Feel free to PM if interested. I am all for back-end work, but UI and interfacing with SimConnect is unfortunately above my pay grade o_O
