• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hey all,

My newest girl... The Bullette. A mix of Bucker, Fieseler Storch, Skylark, and MewGull and a bit of Carbon Fiber... Well, a lot of Carbon Fiber.

Hello Bill

Do you ever get tired? Such amount energy do you have!!! Another wonder designed in a snap; impressive work my friend!

Can't wait to see more of this;
All the best,
Sergio.
:D

Tidy work Bill! And a lot more likely than the Christmas Bullet (look it up on Wikipedia if you like, I did... :yikes:)

Whoa.. Wild looking thing. Thinking outside of the box... about boxes.. with sharp edges... very sharp edges...

You might want to change the name, since it might be unintentionally funny to Germans.

In this part of the country, a Bulette is this:

Although certainly not the first aircraft to be called that, I'd change the name to "Wanderfalke" (peregrine falcon). Lean body, built for speed and the landing gear looks a bit like extended claws ready to fish a rodent out of the tall grass.

That was exactly what I thought of too.

Ive locked in the shape (collapsed the stack with NURM's). Cutting out parts like Ailerons, cubby access door, canopy lift structure, split under-flaps. Working on the cockpit presently. When the controls are put in, I'll map it all, slap some paint on it, then start breaking it apart and animating it.

Nose of a Fieseler, tail of a Bucker Jungmeister, long legs of a Skylark... heh heh... fun..

Hello lads

Dear Bill:
I am impressed on how fast you can model and map an entire aircraft. WOW!!!

Congratulations my friend.
All the best,
Sergio.
:)

Now she is mapped... Parts cut out and animated.

Now the long haul things to deal with.. Tunes and bugs...

One in Lamborghini Metallic Blue. Alpha channel applied to textures for some reflections. Grunge not yet applied so it still looks like a plastic toy.

Worked on small bits, then worked on the yellow scheme to get the properties in order. Still too much shine, reflection is better. Grunge mottling added (barely visible, helps the paint look realistic). Some decals. Need to do those control wires next. Textured the split flaps inner area's with stacked, laminated Spruce. Getting there.

Really nice indeed - the view toward of VC seems to be a challenge. I like these kind of birds very much...

With the angle she flies at, you get a pretty good visibility. All the WWII fighters (most of them) had huge engine noses, so they had to do things to keep visibility at slow speeds and when on the ground. One was side slipping, another was hanging your head out the canopy. I made a view (both sides) where you hand your head out the canopy and the is tilted like 15 or 20 degress, lol.. Hilarious. But, yes.. It isnt easy. The Bucker Jungmann is like that, and the Extra 300 two seater as well. I dont see how people can handle that, sitting in the back seat. Same with the Piper Cub.

Another thing I did on this is cut join seams out on the Canopy. Something I have been getting into on the last few planes is something I learned from car makers in 3ds Max. They have gaps in the seams for realism. It looks really good. You do not have to worry about doing these in lines on the graphics when you do this. With the Ailerons and control surfaces, I try to put in gaps now. You can clearly see where the top canopy structure is, as well as the forward and sides of the cowling seams. I put in a backer strip on the cowling seams to keep you from seeing all the way through the cowling panels.

Here's that side view I did that I was talking about.. Hanging your head out the cockpit... catching bugs..

I was able to tilt the 'Camera View' a bit.
