• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Good day to all .
So I have been experimenting with blender software and manage to export 3D models into own scenery. OK.
What about putting an self made 3D model inside existing airplaine ?
Can not figure it out if even posible with the Standard SDK

Thank you for any help/Hints.

Greetins

No way to do it via SDK.
Only editing plane XML files.
Thank you Sir. Confirming what I had read somwhere ..... Could you ellaborate on that particular ml editing. I have some readings about using "copilot" in .cfg file and that you can use any simobject... Greetings

The "Copilot" options in .cfg are designed to add an avatar to the cockpit, you can use the method to add any object, but doing so will "break" the default avatar that MSFS uses for airplanes, it depends on your project if that is a problem or not for you.

The other XML methods are using options such as ModelMerge or ModelAtttach, but these require modifying or overwriting the aircraft definition files. If the project is an own aircraft it would not be a problem, but if it is a third party aircraft that would be inflicting its EULA and probably affect plane behavior, which can cause problems with the developer.
I'm sorry I don't have good news, but MSFS doesn't give simple options for what you want to do.

Pefectly clear . I agree with all your toguths . Would be only something experimental ..... Ok. Thank you again for your time.

There is a video of someone doing so. I have not tried it yet.
Thank you Dale. It is a bit outdated but still interesting to follow and try. A different approach for something that should not be that difficult to do ..... ? There is the forementioned approach editing airplaine.cfg and such , described by Federico Pinotti also in Youtube ( from "mamudesign" ) ... Maybe there is still somebody out there who can share an effective way to accomplish this. Good day to you. Greetings
