• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.

Question on XML gauges in P3DV4.5

Dear All

Usually XML gauges work in P3D even from FS2004 or FSX

Now I move an elderly Beech D18 to P3D.

While gauges show well in FS Panel studio- they dont show at all in real simulation

one issue may be that the bitmaps are in a subfolder and pointed like that there

<Image Name=".\egtCht\background.bmp"/>

usually we have ..\ 2 dots

Before I now reprogramm 50 + gauges could anybody have a look in attached gauges and give me a hint whats wrong ?

Thanks a lot

Roland

Why have you got the bitmaps in subdirectories?
Seems like unnecessary complication.

Just FYI... the single dot represents the parent directory of whatever folder the sim believes is current for the XML gauge. Nothing guarantees that's actually the folder the XML file is really in. To ensure there are no pathing errors, it would be best practice for the bitmaps to reside in the same folder as the XML. If there are multiple bitmaps of the same name due to multiple XML gauges... then place the bitmaps in subfolder that is contained within the folder that contains the XML itself.

Clear as mud?? :D
