• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Reload on Startup

Options - Reload on Startup is unticked.
AIFP.ini has Reload on Startup=False.

Whenever I start afresh I get the previous FP I was working with.

Have I grasped the wrong meaning, as I assumed that AIFP would start as a "blank canvas".

I assumed that AIFP would start as a "blank canvas".
That's the intention and that's how it works on my system. Are you sure you actually have version (g) installed? Does it say so in the title bar?

If not, then please provide step by step instructions to help me duplicate.

Also, may I suggest that when you report two closely-related problems, you do so in a single thread. They'll get the same level of attention.

The FP that was starting up seemed to have ICAOs that were causing problems.

seemed to have ICAOs that were causing problems.
Now you're really going to have to be specific. Which ICAO's, What kind of problem? Are you suggesting there's a "connection" between the problem you initially reported and these "problems"?

Sorry...not my finest reporting..

I'd done a Find/Collect on a new folder - Addon Airports/Directory tree FS9
The process seemed to work OK, listed the relevant ICAOs and seemed to save as expected.

I then opened the Flightplans_***.txt and the system reported for numerous FP/leg entries that

Flight Plan **:
Leg **: No data available for airport "****" ( for numerous ICAO)

I checked the folder and there were files for these ICAOs and also checked several in ADE that they opened properly and that their properties were as expected.

I then checked in Airport_Temp.dat where the reported "No data" ICAOs were listed as
****,N00* 00.00000',E00* 00.00000',-3280

After I'd this problem, my system does the reloading and not a blank canvas startup.

Hope this is a bit clearer.

Ant ideas?

Jim

Jim, when you define a new airport, you must also define its geographic position. As far as the Airport editor is concerned, no such position has been defined. From what you have told me. I have no way of knowing whether it's your original new airport that's at fault (in which case I'd have been inclined to set the geographic parameters there), a glitch in Collect Airports, of something else.

None of this, no matter how fortunate its happening, has any bearing on your erroneous pre-loading of airport. n

There are too may individual files to which I'd nee access to diagnose this to ask for them one-by-one. Please zip-up your entire AIFP folder and send it to me - e:mail don at stuff4fs dot com or put it on one of the file transfer systems. Also, please include the ad4. and resulting .bgl files for the airport you were attempting to add via Collect Airports. This will help me with your other issues as well.

It was after a Collect Airports, and the afcad had all the correct geographic properties.
