• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

MSFS20 Remove displaced threshold markings/arrows

Hi everyone,

how can I remove the arrows being displayed on the threshold? I tried aprons, exclusion rectangles, nothing works. Still I get these huge arrows every several meters, but my scenery has only smaller arrows. These are displayed correctly, but I cannot get rid of the default arrows.
I tried creating my own "displayed threshold" via disabling the default threshold and instead use an apron, but then also the lighting is changed. There are no edge lights, etc.

Any tipps?

Greetings
Tobi

Hi. If I understand your question correctly:
In ADE/In Sim they are both an attribute of the Runway - "No Arrows" - This controls the small arrows appearing as such, just before the solid white line:

If you are referring to the 3 long arrows, they are controlled under Pavements and equal the Primary threshold. However turning it off will move the start of the runway and so you will need to either adjust the length of the runway or add an overrun etc to compensate

Hope this helps.

No, this removes the arrows at the end, just before the runway start. These are removed, no problem. It's the arrows all the way on the threshold itself not being removed...

Yes, I tried removing the threshold and instead use an apron and my custom arrows painted on top. Works, but it also changes the edge lighting (threshold edges are red, than turning to green for the runway, removing the threshold makes the edges totally dark with no lights logically), will try again with an overrun and see what this does to the lighting.

Checked, the "overrun" does not create any lighting on the edges or the end of the overrun.

Well, I could create my own lights, but removing the threshold also puts the green runway start lights on the runway.

So, if I want to keep the correct lighting, I have to use a threshold, but cannot get rid of the arrows on the threshold, as these always have priority.
If I use some other form of runway extension, the edge lighting is gone (could fix that), but the runway start lighting is wrong.

It's really annoying... ☹️
