• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.

Removing older scenery files from ADE

Hello

I had been using FSX for several years and had installed many custom airports made by others. When I switched to P3Dv4.5 some of that scenery had missing parts which I know means the files are not compatible.

Comparing my home base custom airport in ADE to P3D I can see what items are not showing and by placing my mouse over the object in ADE I can identify the file. I can then go to Library Object Manager
and delete the file. This is a slow process and there are a LOT of files listed in Library Object Manager.

Is there a quicker and easier method to identify and remove the non working file?

Also I want to make some updates to my home airport. But without knowing if a file will work it's insert, save, compile, copy the file, and load it into P3D to see if the object appears.

I would appreciate any help.

Thank you
Ed

Hi Tim, thanks for responding.
I not familiar with how that works. Can you convert an entire folder with MCX or do you have to convert each individual item separately?

Take care
Ed

I've never managed to do an entire folder at once, but library bgls can contain hundreds of scenery objects which are converted in one operation. You probably can do a batch convert of several bgls using the Wizards menu, but I haven't tried that as I like to check each bgl as it's converted.
