Okay so apparently the vector shp excludes actually go by LOD block rather than actually just cutting out the data from the underneath, or at least data from an LOD cell that intersects.
With one of the islands I'm working on this means for the water exclude I've built I've now got huge tracts of landmass several miles offshore from the island.
I've been thinking about how to quickly solve this issue and replace the missing water and am wondering if I generate a waterclass map whether that would help me fill in the water again?
I've thought about doing a water polygon but that seems challenging as I'll have to create a hole for the island block on the inside of the polygon and generate a large enough polygon for the missing data on the outside... i.e. picture a square with a hole cut inside it.
I'm hoping that the waterclass bgl would be the better solution as then I don't have to worry about polygon flattening issues.
The whole reason in the first place for the water exclude is because all my water is flattened already within the elevation data bgl...
Hope someone can track with what I'm saying, in the middle of election coverage at work and my mind is scattered right now...
