• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hi,
I love the tool, think it is great.
Yesterday I struggled reading it into ModelConverterX 1.2 for FSX conversion. Got some unsupported opcodes, etc.. Then I changed to the devellopement version.
Great, that one is working perfect.
May be one should mention that in the manual?

Thanks for both of the great tools !

yes it's a great tool and in combination with sketchup is better even, you really can speed up any project , encourage to develop sceneries and have a wide range of posibilities, is great, not as gmax wich scare a little .

Reason one is licensing
If You do not use it only for Your own purposes You miight encounter lawyers reality. Not joking, payed for that reality.
Reason two:
There are diffrences withiin FS9 and FSX (SP2).
Sorted those out.
They now work in both versions.
To get those running there is more know how recommended.
Level Three:
Well ok, if you are familiar with some of those FS Versions, you might have choosen to implement the one or other object according to a specific idea.
Talking aboutg FSX you might need to change that .
See the differences if you own the GMAX source, understand what you are doing, in the new circumstanded possibilities of how to implement the textures.
Only for the nigjht textures i Did spend a couple of days, just testing the new capabilities out.
Up to date, there are a few questions left: What does the customer really see, using which graphic card?
In short words; What is the users reallity?

Pictures are more than talking

It really works.

Are you referring to the ModelConverterX manual here or the SAMM manual? The ModelConverterX manual always is for the latest stable release, but I guess it might be good to mention there is also a development release that has more functionality.

Arno,
no, not in the MCX Manual, in the SAMM manual. Otherwise you end up with some strange OP-Codes.
Your development-release works perfectly.

Christian, as noted in the SAMM manual (p. 9), some aircraft models simply won't convert with SAMM due to "non-standard" design techniques. Problems will manifest themselves in a variety of ways including, it would now seem, using opcodes that ModelConverterX doesn't handle (and that, presumably, are not be useable in FSX).

I don't recall if you told us whether or not the model as generated by SAMM displays in either FS9 or FSX. (Generally, other than for transparency or lighting issues, further conversion with MCX should not be necessary.)

If you want to investigate these invalid opcodes, SAMM will generate listings of both the aircraft model and the SAMM-generated static model. But, it's up to you to develop your own diagnostic techniques.

Don

Don,
it was just a Rev32 OP-code. After I changed to Arno´s development version your tool worked perefctly !
