Hi gang how are you all?
When I want to add a runway at a new airfield ]depicted in Gen X but not a stcock FSX airfield] this is what I do.
I find the airfield in either google or virtual earth and get the lat and long of somewhere in the centre of the airfield.
I then load at the nearest stock airfield and then slew to my location.
In top down view I go to the centre of the runway and take a screen shot quickshot]
I load this image into ADE.
If I know the runway headings and dimensions I create a runway using these and then position the image to fit.
I add the runway starts.
I then add the bgl to my active folder.
HOWEVER I found up till now that no matter how precisely I position the image and runway in ADE it NEVER matches to FSX.
I spend hours fiddling and fussing to get the runway to exactly match the FSX image when on the ground, well and in the air.
Is this normal procedure or am I missing something.
I NEVER match a runway to either GE or VE as they end up way off in FSX.
It is becoming very tiresome having to spend so much time on something that should be relatively straight forward.
Regards
Richard
