• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Yeah its look nice in fs and i placed it all around the airport and only say 1-2 fps drop. I will be update the shots tomorrow.

I have to put the project on hold for a week since i got a virus and can't even start up my desktop. I only have my laptop but i just must restart to keep the project going.

Wow, your grass looks awesome, i tried the same but mine was only seeable from a distance of around 5 meters :(

Can you send me a link to the tutorial that you mentioned in your first post?
I made different planes with a little offset and applied my grass texure on them. Then i placed them using Airport design editor. They show up correctly in a distance of 3m but if i get more far away, they are hiding :)

Yes that is what i followed but when it says to place using fs2002 method it never worked foe me but when i use mcx convert and place it comes out just fine.

Hey Matthew,

good work there!
Concerning the export method, I used the FS2002-groundpolygon style in the tutorial. It works best (and easy) for me but other export methods should also work (groundpolygon wizard of MCX for example).
What doesn't work (as far as I know) is to export the grass as a simple model.
This results in flickering.

Do you plan to edit the satellite imagery to match the surroundings (brown -> green)?
Otherwise I could send you a brownish/fall-version of my texture.

Well i was going to keep it the same color and if you can that would be great. But you don't have to do it anytime soon since i am mainly working on the buildings.
