• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

MSFS20 sample aircraft won't compile

Hey fellows,
after installing the 0.6 SDK the simple aircraft sample won't compile.
I get the following message in the console:

project XML: C:\MSFS

Provided project definition file does not exist

I won't even go so far (yet) and bore you with my own project hassles which might or might not be related to the same cause.
The bugged project definition file is where it should be, so that seems to be kind of a bogus message
I allready uninstalled and reinstalled the SDK to no avail.
I would apprechiate any help
 
Ok, package build repaired itself at one point, and thanks to a hint by Vitus both the sample aircraft as well as my own project are now selectable in the sim.
Note to self:
Always make sure that aircraft.cfg entry FLTSIM.0 "isUserSelectable=" is set to "1". :banghead::wave:;)
 
Ahhh... Good to know. Still didnt unlock mine, but glad you got yours running. I had mine at 0 also.
 
Yay, one might wonder why one would want to set an aicraft to be not selectable anyway.
One more thing:
After adjusting the aircraft.cfg and rebuilding the package (clean all --> build all respectively) I had to reload the project file in order to make it available in the aircraft editor.
 
Sometimes you can just use 'resync' in the Aircraft Editor. When I am redoing configs (adjusting interior camera angles, flight dynamics, etc) I use resync over and over. But with models and textures, you need to rebuild the project.

Supposedly dragging and dropping the 'project xml' unto the 'fspackagetool' does that as well as the sim. Quicker the first way. But still has to be reopened in the sim.
 
Also, side note, on the 'SimpleAircraft' the first two planes in the config are for AI use, probably one sitting in scenery, and one for AI flights. The first one should have been for flight. I cannot believe how difficult it is to create a plane from these templates. SO MUCH INFORMATION for a single plane....
