sceneProc crashes

#1
Hello Arno,

The latest development release of scenProc crashes immediately when started:

An unexpected error occurred
Error:
Can't load requested DLL: C:\ModelConverterX\x64\plugins\gdal_netCDF.dll

14001: Diese Anwendung konnte nicht gestartet werden, da die Side-by-Side-Konfiguration ungültig ist.

Any ideas on that?

Regards,
Heinrich

Did you try a complete install instead of the update package?

And does the specified file exist on your machine?

Yes, I made a full new install on my PC and the dll is also there. I made another installation on my Laptop which runs without any problems. Do you know the reason of this "side-by-side" error message? Maybe any issues with Visual-C libraries?

OK, thanks. Let me check, the GDAL DLL files are indeed build with a specific version of the C++ runtime libraries. I'll check which version, maybe those runtimes are missing or so.

Hi,

The GDAL files have been build with Visual Studio 2008. Do you have the Visual C++ 2008 runtime files installed on the computer where it doesn't work?

Was it the runtime files? If it is, I can add extra checks for it.

Thanks, I'll update the documentation and will check if I can check in the software if it's installed.

I have updated the manual now and also found a way to check if the right version is installed in the software. So now you'll get a nicer error message when they are not installed :)
