Good evening all,

Would anyone be able to point me in the right direction for a step by step guide for converting scenery in MCX from FSX/P3D to MSFS formats please. I'm really struggling at porting my scenery objects across.

Kind regards
Dale

Hi Dale,

What did you use to make the models? I think I tried using MCX, but you can't just port an object, it needs to write an xml file with it, not sure MCX does that.

If you use blender 3.3 and the ASOBO MSFS plugin, you can load the model into that, set up the materials, and use the GLTF exporter.

It exports by "collection".

Have you set up a model library in your project using the SDK yet?

Hi Dale,

What kind of scenery you want to convert? Only 3d objects and their placement or also other things? MCX can do this first.

If you load the FSX/P3D bgl file that contains object and placement, you can directly export it as a MSFS scenery package. That includes the xml file for placement and glTF objects. After running it through the packager tool you should be able to use.

Good afternoon guys,

Thank you for getting back to me, I have now successfully converted the scenery files, it seems my issue was on the sim side of things which I have now resolved.

Thank god for MCX, it's so great!.

Cheers,
