• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Can anyone provide a link to an article how to create a line of fencing using the duplicate command ln Scenery Editor?

I have found one article and have been able to select a few sections but cannot find a way to proceed further with the Duplicate facility.

Don't leave us in suspense! For the sake of anyone else, please tell us the way.

This is what I did to create an airfield boundary hedge, in this case from a tall shrub:

Scenery editor - view - objects - object type - scenery - packages - all - shrub4 - in 'objects' click shrub4 - one click placing - position shrub - untick - gizmo - click object shrub - scale 0.3, Enter key, rotate and translate as required.
Create a line of shrubs a few sections long, ensure they are aligned with each other.
Select the line by holding down Left Ctrl while selecting all of them with the mouse in the ‘Scenery Editor’ - press Duplicate to make a copy of the line of shrubs. Cursor to white dot on the line of shrubs- move to required position on the airfield.
Repeat Duplicate - cursor to white dot - move to required position as required.

Don't forget to save at the end of this process.

Hope this helps.

Yes, the ability to select a line of fence segments and rotate it as one is great, but I'm looking forward to the time we can click a start/end point to build a fenceline. I miss Whisplacer's 'line' tool...

In the meantime the shrub line creation is a great help, just wish there was a better size shrub with a flattish top.
