• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Scenery Elevation Issues - What to fix

Hello,

This has been probably asked but i can't really find anything related to such a specific issue, so forgive me if i'm asking this in duplicate. I have attached a few pictures to better explain the problem.
What i would like to know is what actually needs fixing here: Airport altitude, add a flatten layer, add an exclusion layer of sorts... What exactly will make the altitude right so that the aircraft sits on top of the runway and when i take off, no bleeding occurs.

This is a very old scenery of VVNB and i'm trying to make it work in Prepar3D v5 (yeah long shot), so any advice would be helpful.

NOTE: The very bright green square area bleeding through appears to be an exclusion layer which i spotted when opening the airport with ADE, but even removing it and recompiling the airport didn't get rid of it, there must be an additional BGL doing that as well.

Thank you very much!

Hello:

Is this a payware or freeware scenery ?

If freeware, where can it be downloaded ?

Generally speaking, Altitude of Airport Reference point, CVX Vector flatten (airport background / boundary polygon) and Runways must all be identical for textures to render with no anomalies (and for AI traffic to work).

P3Dv5 changes few things, however, and I do not yet have it to test, so perhaps others may disagree on that.

Textured flat 3D ground polygon objects (aka "G-Polys") may require both an assigned placement Altitude, and a "VTP Layer number" to determine what its display position will be relative to any underlying / overlying textures.

Hope this assists in prompting your further description of the info others may need to better help you. :)

I had to look it up, but here it is. Oddly there's a P3D version in there now which i will take a look into as it might fix some issues if not all. Meanwhile, thank you very much for your input, the VTP Layer Number might be what's missing here, i'll have to dig up on that.

Meanwhile i have a lot to work with, so already worth it :)
