• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

scenery objects issue

I hope I didn't tread on your toes when I got involved in this Gary!

Davide has contacted me privately about learning more. I've explained to him that I really don't want to get into private tuition - and that there are many here far more qualified than I am anyway. And, of course, nearly every question he may come up with has probably already been answered on the forum or in the Wiki. I do think that learning to make his own scenery would give him great satisfaction, even if it's only modifying stock airports with default library objects (as indeed Ray did for this LIRF).

Hi Tim:

No problem on my part here with seeing a mix of replies from forum participants who offer what they hope may help someone.

If anything I agree with a perspective which I believe you may have recently alluded to here:

In the context of whether discussion of modifying third-party software should be allowed at FSD (as Doug appears to be concerned about), I think that's a slightly different issue and one which the admins of the site should think carefully about. But I think perhaps this should be a separate, new topic.

I am inclined to consider all forum participant contributions to a discussion as deserving a place other than the Recycle Bin.

IMHO, if a forum Admin disagrees with that, they may consider relocating content to a new thread ...rather than deletion.

Thanks for sharing your insights and ideas with Davide- and the rest of us- here at FSDeveloper. :)

hi all again, I'm trying all the solutions, but it seams to be impossible fot me to add a new terminal in fiumicino or in any other airport with ade, because I'm missing something.
Another problem is that I have noted that in ade, (and I don't know why) the jetway are displayed differently and they don't move when added.
I have a fresh installation of p3d v4.5, no addons and a fresh install of ade (without libraries) everythink is stock

Hi Davide. As we've discussed, modifying Ray's LIRF any further is likely to end up in both you and me tearing our hair out and not getting very far. So let's leave that one alone!

Now, the jetway you've selected as a scenery object is the old FS9 animated jetway. Why it's still in a P3D default scenery library I have no idea, but as you've discovered it shares the same GUID as the more modern FSX animated jetway which you've circled in your first screenshot. Because it shares that GUID, it will not appear in FSX or P3D as far as I am aware (which may be the reason ADE displays it hidden behind that box). The FSX jetway can only be used in conjunction with a parking spot, and you can only use one per spot.

If you want to add a static jetway to represent a stand that has more than one jetway (say one animated and one static), use the JFK jetway that Ray used. There may be better models available elsewhere, possibly animated using SODE, or you could make one yourself. I don't generally model large civilian airports so this isn't an issue that I've tackled - if I want a big civilian airport, I'll buy someone else's payware!

But in the past, i got the opportunity to add the jetway (the one that moves) now I have only this one wich is static

The only jetway you can add that moves is the one that you insert by right-clicking on the parking spot and selecting 'Add...' then 'Jetway'. You can only add one per spot, and the parking spot must be a Gate.
