• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Scenery Objects Not Showing Issue

Edit: I think the reason that you can see the JFK Jetway in my image is that I imported that object into ADE some time ago, and made it available to my P3Dv5 by putting it in the general Scenery directory. Quite a few old FS9/FSX sceneries have made use of that object, so it's a useful one to have in the Scenery directory. Note that the one on the far left of the three is wrongly placed, so the animated jetway (as you have placed it) cannot connect to the parked aircraft.
how can I do this???

Got it thanks

Hi Davide. Have you added the libraries to somewhere the sim can see them? Gary’s point above is well made - it’s generally not best practice to put ‘general’ scenery items in the main scenery folder, but it’s rare that you’ll find an issue if the scenery was properly defined by the originator. However, at this stage of your scenery development career I’d recommend keeping all the discreet items you use in your airfield sceneries in that airfield’s Scenery folder. Later, I’m sure, you’ll be introduced to or will develop more sophisticated scenery management. Let’s not over complicate it for now.

One problem may be that the GUIDs for the scenery items in the default_terminals_ss directory are different from those for the same items in the FSX/P3D libraries. I don’t think they are, but that’s a good reason for having that scenery library available to FSX/P3D. You can have a ‘scenery libraries’ directory, with its own scenery and texture folders, in your Addon Scenery folder to host whatever third party scenery libraries you might use. I do prefer using the xml method of making scenery available to P3D, but if you don’t use that yet it can wait for now.

I haven’t yet had a chance to look at your new ad4 file. I will later this evening.

This is how your airport appears in my P3Dv5:

Other than the very odd arrangement of the gates at the west end of the terminal, it seems to be working ok.
