• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

ScenProc - difficult to export Shp file

How to see in the annotator the file? wichi file?

You can use agn files only with photo scenery. In annotator, open the photo bgl and it will automatically display the agn files in the associated texture folder.

Scenproc took over two hours on my 3GHz quad core AMD running XP.

2 problems:

- most of building are very large and inside another ones.
- tecture flickering in all buildings.

- if i want to correct some roofs in annotator is not possible to delete them?

Either click on the model to select it or drag a rectangle around several models to select them then press "Delete".

Don't forget to save before exiting Annotator.

very impressive result, most problems in my case. of course i have autogen on in FSX. i report my problems:

- not correct buildings catevgory ( some large roofs)
- one inside by other ones
- flickering textures

Probably this is ok when you have omogen autogen buildings?
difficult in the cities?

Hi,

The autogen buildings have to be rectangular. So for very complex footprints that can result in buildings that are too big. I am working on new functionality to improve that. But it is partly a limitation of the autogen.

Maybe the flickering textures are caused by multiple buildings at the same place?

I see that the buildings not correspond exactly to the same category of city.
Probably must to change che code inside the graphes?

Do you mean the type of building is wrong? That's always a bit random of course with autogen, but you can adjust height distributions and the roof type.
 
Hi,

If you check the tutorial I mentioned before, it is explained in which XML file of the SDK you can find them. That's the only guide I am aware of at the moment.

i try now to cover a small are around Rome LIRF. problems:

from geofabrik.de the shp file is too big 701mb and cover entirly italy, So in QGIS the problem to zoom file is difficult.

after one hour i zoom into the area and select a few of buildings. export in shp file and cahrge....but at 19% Scenproc crash....what happen?

Hi,

If you don't tell me the error message of the crash, I have no idea what is going on. But yesterday I fixed a bug in the shapefile reader, so you might want to try the latest version.
