• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

scenProc import issues

Hi, so I'm trying to add autogen to my photoreal scenery using scenProc, and based on what I have seen online my first entry should be ImportOSM or Import SHP, expect the program is not recognizing any of them. Only ImportAGN, BGL, BGN, EMPTY RASTER, GDAL, INF, OGR are my options

Hi,

You must have been using an very old video or tutorial then. If you check the samples in the manual you will see that you should now use ImportOGR.

Hi Arno,

Sorry to make this any more complicated, but Im really not sure how to proceed. Im looknig at the manual, but I dont know if I can do this..
so far I have my first line:
ImportOGR|buildings.shp|*|*|AUTODETECT
now i am not sure how to proceed in making the autogen

Hi,

Did you check the samples that show you how to make autogen? The manual has samples on how to make autogen buildings and vegetation.

I can't answer the attributes question, as that depends on the source data you are using. Each dataset will have its own attributes to mark buildings and vegetation. But the samples do show strategies on how to process the data into autogen.

Would it be possible for you to write the scenproc configuration with my osm file as an example for me? Im sorry im asking a lot, i just dont know what to do.
I just want to add trees and buildings

Hi,

Since you are using OSM data, you can take the script from section 5.1 of the manual. What that script does is make vegetation polygons and buildings.

Hi,

It seems like your OSM file is not in the same folder as the SPC file. In that case you need to enter the complete path, not only the filename.

For the GUID, it seems you copied them from the manual, but on paper they were split in two lines. You need to remove the spaces and ! from the GUID to make them valid again.
