• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

scenProc out of memory

Hi,

I did some more testing, when I try to load a 270 MB shapefile (with a 50 MB DBF), I run out of memory about half way through.

What size of file are you using when the tool does not respond anymore?

Hello

I think of having some concern with my console DOS in particular after the first compilation, I have the impression that the emptying of memory of the preceding operation is not always done.
For the new version of ScenProc could you put a text file in example because, for new filters, so maintaining during compilation I have a planting of scenproc towards the 15 or 27%

Hi,

What do you mean with the text file? I am afraid I don't fully understand it.

Arno

Is this a specific OOM error or is it some generic? I assume you are not reading everything into memory before processing?

Hi Jon,

It is a generic one. And yes I am reading everything into memory at the moment, since I first want to collect all features and then do different post-processing steps on them.

I think my profiler can also do memory things. But I feel the limitation is just that their are too many features if I try to process the whole Netherlands at once.

I started this thread to make sure the problem reported on the blog is the same issue and not another bug.

OK - if I can help please let me know - unfortunately I have been hunting memory leaks in ADE for years :o:o

Hi Jon,

I doubt this is a memory leak. I think it is more that the internal representation of all information takes more memory than there is available.
