• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Hi,

Have a look at section 9.2.8 in the manual, it explains how the BooleanFeatures step can be used to subtract buildings from vegetation (including a picture to illustrate it).

Hi Arno

At what position should I insert the command "BooleanFeatures | DIFFERENCE | landuse = "forest" | building = "*" | 1 "? i think even before creating the AGN objects. tried it, but found no difference

Thank you Arno

Hi,

I would place it after the SplitGrid step and before you made the first AGN object.

It might help to run a test on a small part of your data and then export the resulting vegetation polygon to a SHP file, then you can visually check if the boolean worked correctly.

Hi,

Since your vegetation data is coming from the Corine dataset and not from OSM, you would have to check the attributes of the filter as well. landuse="forest" will not work for the Corine data, that is an OSM attribute.

Hello Arno

I have the vegetation data in the corine dataset as well as in the osm file. if I only create the corine data with Code_06 = "313" (mixed forest GUID) it will be loaded but not shown. with landuse = "forest" I get the vegetation. how can I load and display both variants. do not know what to do next and have been for weeks.

many thanks for your Answer

Hi,

It's hard to give you exact advice, since I don't know which script you use, which data you use and what kind of processing flow you are trying to achieve.

In general you would first load your data. Then you would subtract the buildings from your forest to prevent you have vegetations in your houses. And afterwards you can make all AGN objects.

It seems some invalid polygon is returned. I'll see if I can reproduce something, but that might be hard without the data.
