• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

SDK ERROR - Parking not linked to main graph

I've made over 200 little airports and have put heli and dock parking into all of them. Today after the update I was putting these in and I got this error on both of them:

"Parking not linked to the main graph"

Also, the slew doesn't work when in the DEV mode. Anybody else seeing this problem. (I've cleaned out the caches, I've redone the community folder, I've got the world updates updated. I'm also noticing that my instruments no longer show when I'm in the "outside" view. I had just put in a new airport prior to the update hitting and it was working fine. After the update (sim and SDK), the problems arose.

Parking not linked to the main graph
This means that your parking/fuel spots are not connected to the taxipath, or you have two or more taxi paths not properly connected somewhere down the line. As of SU7, if you have parking spots, they need to be connected to a taxipath, which needs to have at least 1 hold-short node before the runway, which then needs to connect to a runway path. Previous airport builds still seem to work fine, but moving forward this is a requirement.

Oh yea. And you wont be able to save your project until you fix every little error in the scenery. Whoever set that rule just made one of my lists earlier today..

Edit: I'm not sure on the slew mode, as I have always just used the dev camera with my mouse.

"And you wont be able to save your project until you fix every little error in the scenery"

Un-freaking-believable.

There are plenty of cases where this isn't possible or at all necessary, especially heliports.

Yes, today I've removed a dozen gates from my current project, yet to be linked, just so I could save it. So gone are the days of slapping down all the parking spots first.
However this is the first update I've ever sworn at, so I can't really complain.

I know the good old 'can I roll back to the old SDK' line is usually hopeless, but does anyone know whether reverting would get rid of this particular case?

I know most SDK functions are innate to SU7, but I would hope this is part of the surface interface that comes with the separate SDK.

Edit - nope.

I see on the Development Update 18/11 there's a note that some things were not fixed in time for SU7, including this:

  • We had an error “Parking not linked to the main graph” that prevented you from saving your scenery. We downgraded it to a “warning” only so that you can still build your package. However if your parking have has a weird appearance, linking them to the main graph will solve the issue.
Hopefully we'll get this fix sooner rather than later next year.

Well I seem to have the same problem and have carefully connected all paths and holding points.. names the paths runway.. taxi and by their call sign A B C etc. When it comes to linking parking spots, normally one selects a taxi point perpendicular to the properly labeled and numbered parking spot then ctrl select the parking spot and then " create path">
In my case when I do that no path is created and the parking error does not go away.

Also many CTD while in SDK.. ahhhh.

I understand these programs are complex, but why does something that worked well suddently go off the rails. All my development projects are on hold until a fix can be found.

Select the parking spot, and place another node with it selected. It will create a parking link between the spot and the node. Then select the taxi link node and the new parking path node so that they are both highlighted. Right click on one and say merge points.

Maybe there is a better way to do it, but this is the method I was using that worked.

I select a taxiway node first, than with Ctrl Left Mouse Button the parkposition. Than right click menu create path.
And it saves the scenery even if the message could not save is shown. Because when I opened my scenery saved with errors, a polygon was in the scenery which I add before.

Thanks for your reply.. I tried and was successful using this method>

Select a taxipoint near where you want to place the parking and select it so that it is white.

Then go to TaxiwayParking in the Objects menu and select the type of parking you want eg. Ramp GA

Then next to ADD select the One-click placing and simply click and place the parking spot.

Deselect the one-click placing and a line should appear between the taxipoint and the center of the parking spot and the error will disappear.. Yeh>>

Ok I apologize to SDK.. this works and it was my fault for not understanding the correct process..
