• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Seaplane Ramps?

Hardened Seaplane Ramp

It can be done as I have managed to taxi an amphibian Beaver up such a structure that exists on the Aerosoft Andras Field airfield and lakes design.

(Incidentally, there are some very interesting design features in this layout but it is a pity that there are also some very bad points in the way some features have been laid out.)

Andras Field Lake - it can be done but I am not an object designer - sorry.

A developer who used to go by the name of 'Mocat' did a lot of Caribbean and Alaskan sceneries that featured seaplane bases. Many had ramps onto docks that you could taxi up right out of the water so it is possible to do. I just don't know how he did it.

It would have to be done in the model file though as I don't think it is possible to do this in ADE.

As always MCX can save the situation, just add a "platform" and play wih the "filter normal upwards" assingning a value that could fit. normally decreasing the 1.000 value. That simple.

I have his stuff on this computer. I used to spend hours playing with it.

I'll see if I can find something in his librarys that will work.

Thanks,
Bob Macklin

I have done "flattens" with ADEX and I can slope them.

Hmmmm.....I think I'll go play with that. :-)

By the way...FSDreamteam's CYVR has a floatplane ramp on the south side of
the airport just like the real thing.
